I have always had a pointsetia plant as decoration for the festive season. My recent one has been growing for a few years.

So when a branch snapped off I cut a plastic bottle in half and turned the top section upside down back into the base, filled with water and placed the stem in the container and just placed it in a quite corner and after a while roots sprouted and I now have a plant I will be planting out to grow.

The containers help to keep the stem upright and keep dust and insects falling into container.
