15 Oct Blog Action Day

Well as I write this we are once again experiencing strange weather for this time of year. We had a huge rain storm last night and today the sun is currently shining although the temperature has not yet gone above 15°C. This is meant to be our dryer season and the start of the warm weather. Do not get me wrong I am not complaining about the rain it is always needed, it is just so unexpected. We are finding that more and more children and elders are getting sick due to the constant cold and we as a country are not geared for this constant cold wet weather we are far more geared to the warm dry weather. Our houses are not holding up to this constant rain and cold. I personally have experienced huge damage to my roof. Just this weekend we had a hail storm unheard of in this part of the country. This wrecked the spring flowers and new growth sprouting up. I feel for those folks that have their own kitchen gardens and the farmers of our food crops as this would have destroyed many of the tender new growth not accustomed to heavy rain and hail. So we will once again face shortages of vital fresh foods.
