A winter sunny Sunday in Cape Town

The plan was to take Callum to the planetarium as he is now fascinated with astronomy since getting his telescope and has already seen the moon.

We started in Vredehoek at Deer Park for a nice breakfast on the patio overlooking the play park in the sun. Callum loves it here and at his age he can wonder around and explore by himself or play on the various play structures. Hi favorite being the water! No surprise there.

As I still have toothache and on anti-inflammation I had the oats and quinoa with honey and almonds a really nice mix.

From there we did a quick stop at the gardens shopping center.

Then it was off to the iziko museum which house the planetarium. We started off in the garden outside playing with some very tame squirrels.

The museum has several floors and we wondered around the blue route which is mostly water creature related.

The show we saw was an introductory to astronomy especially for children under 10. very cute and next time we will advance to the next level.

then we walked back through the gardens and will definitely return for a picnic when the weather is this great. We tend to always assume we need to spend money to be entertained. Well i can say from 1st hand experience we have some lovely parks free to the public.

It was then off to green point biodiversity garden, always a favourite. Great place to sit under the shade of a tree and chill while the children have vast spaces to play, ride bike or play ball sports.
